In the early 2000s, I firmly rejected anything sludge, doom, post-metal, etc. Any music that was drawn out and had 0 to very little vocals just wasn’t something I was interested in. Then my friend showed me “Glisten” by Isis and my world changed. I was suddenly listening to the only track off of Entheogen, “The Triumph”, that I always skipped and was timidly dipping my toe into the depths of expansive heavy music. These were the days of mp3.com and “Aeon” was one of the handful of tracks that Neurosis had posted on their page. I proceeded with caution and skepticism, but this is the song that won me over and I’ve grown into a fan like any rational person should.
